For all events please wear suitable clothing and footwear and bring a torch and insect repellent. Sorry, no dogs with the exception of guide or hearing dogs. Accompanied children are welcome.

15th May  Shibden Park, Halifax. 8.30pm
Fly By Night – Bats and Moths
Meet Hugh Firman and Chris Sutcliffe for an event to celebrate National Moth Night. Meet at Shibden Mereside, Shibden Park, Halifax for an introductory talk followed by a walk to look for bats and moths. Event ends at around 22.30.

Bats of Calderdale - An Introduction to their Identification and Ecology
Come along to Jerusalem Farm, near Booth for a training course aimed at adults.
Includes a talk followed by a search for bats.

Bat Walk
An informative illustrated talk from John Gregory, member of the West Yorkshire Bat Group, roost visitor and trainer for Natural England, followed by a walk around the lakeside to observe and listen for the bat species living at Harewood.

19th August, Calverley Woods, 8:15pm
Meeting Point: Town Gate, Calverley (in front of Calverley Parish Church (St Wilfrids)

Free public bat walk led by West Yorkshire Bat Group and Leeds City
Council’s Parks and Countryside Department. An opportunity to see, hear and learn more about the bats of West Yorkshire.
 
For the walk you will need, warm waterproof clothing, stout footwear and a torch. Children must be accompanied by an adult.

21st August Standeged Tunnel Visitor Centre, Marsden 8p.m
Bat Night
Join John Gregory as he explores Standedge and the surrounding area for bat activity. This walk will help people understand the plight of bats and raise the awareness of this mystical creature.
